Second half of the season begins

Round 10 again saw some mixed results for the club but also some exciting firsts. The Under 9s had ECHO’s first ever juniours win, which was met with much excitement from both players and supporters alike. This fantastic result rewards a lot of hard work and perserverence that has been put in throughout the season so far. Congratulations to all the players and Coach Benaud! We look forward to watching the team continue to improve in the second half of the season. The State League boys also had a much needed win on the weekend, defeating PEGS 4-2. PEGS are currently fourth on the ladder so it was a very encouraging win. There were some spectacular goals, with Stu MacKenzie, Tim Jensen, Nic Barclay and James Jensen scoring one each. Metro 2 lost 4-1 despite looking very competitive against St Bedes. After over 100 games with the club (almost always in defence), Rod Neil scored his first goal for ECHO. Metro 4 had a narrow 2-1 loss against the top team, Old Xavs. The women also had a narrow loss in their top 4 clash against Footscray, 4-3.

Round 11 is a home round with three of the teams playing at Waverley. There will be a sausage sizzle from 1pm. Please come down and support the club!
